VALKENSWAARD - Marlon Módolo Zanotelli (BRA) took Grand Slam VDL to the CSI 5* in Valkenswaard last weekend and achieved excellent results. In the 1.50m they finished in fourth place.
The class was won in a fantastic way by the Glamour Girl (Zirocco Blue x Caletto I), bred by Stoeterij Gaesbeek, ridden by Henrick von Eckermann (SWE). In the 1.55m class, this talented combination finished seventh.
Cartello VDL (Cartani x Lord), and Daragh Kenny (IRL) placed eighth in the 1.60m Grand Prix. Like Cardento 'Elite', Cartello VDL was bred out of the mare B-Estelle. Breeder is Witt Pferdeschijn Gbr, Wellinghusen (GER). The horse was sold a few years ago by the VDL Stud and has been selected for the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo.
In the seven-year-olds class over 1.35m, Clown of Picobello Z (Cardento x Orlando) emerged as the winner under the saddle of Loewie Joppen (NED).
In the young horse classes, the six-year-old Karseh (Etoulon x Zirocco Blue) did well under Bart Bles (NED), resulting in a second, third and fifth place.
Jesther (Cardento x Guidam) and rider Bas Moerings (NED) placed fifth in the 1.35m. Osiris FZ (Dallas VDL x Acodetto I) and Loewie Joppen (NED) finished ninth.
In another 1.35m class, sixth place was for Galaxy (Arezzo x Corland), ridden by Inigo Lopez de la Osa Franco (MON). Eighth was Knegt's Icelos Eickenrode (Dakar x Indoctro), ridden by Journey van Eerd (NED).
