The mighty jumping Jourdain VDL (Zapatero x Darco) jumped a double clear round with Alex David Gill in the 1.55m Grand Prix of Ommen and finished in a nice 5th place. Also on Friday in the qualifying competition there was a 5th place in the 1.55m class.
The 7-year-old M. Ladoklahoma VDL Z (Mr. Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) won the 1* Grand Prix with Peter Olthof, at a height of 1.40m. Both Jourdain VDL and M. Ladoklahoma VDL Z are both bred by the VDL Stud. Jourdain VDL comes from the mare Alba VDL and is a brother of, among others, the 1.60m show jumper Harwich VDL. M. Ladoklahoma VDL Z comes out of the 1.60m jumping mare Doklahoma VDL, she is a sister of our young talented stallion McAllister VDL.
There were also good performances for Lena VDL (Carrera x Mr. Blue) and Luke Hill, the mare jumped three clear rounds in the 1.30m class and was placed 2nd twice. Lena VDL is also very strongly bred. She is a granddaughter of the national jumping champion Welena VDL, dam of the 1.60m show jumping horse Celena VDL.
Our young stallion Landino VDL ( Stakkato Gold x Cilton) made his international debut under Alex David Gill and jumped two clear rounds in 1.30m classes.
Laconique DN (Zirocco Blue x Indoctro), ridden by Steven Veldhuis, won a 1.35m and a 1.30m class. Laconique DN was bred by D. Noordhuis from Wijster.
Zirocco Blue daughter Idaloma (ds. Verdi) also won a class with rider Daan van Geel. The full sister of our stallion Maximus, bred by the family Grol, was the best in a 1.40m class. The puissance class in Ommen was won ex-aequo by Conan Wright on the Callahan VDL son Kallahen.
