Rowan Willis finished second with KWPN horse Diablo VII (by Douglas) on the first day of the Spruce Meadows National, the first 5 * event in Calgary this summer. Willis rode a clear round in 69.79 seconds.
Diablo VII is a new horse for New Zealander Rowan Willis: last March, ten-year-old Diablo VII was purchased from Ben Maher. The son of Douglas was bred by J. Bervoets from Zonnemaire.
The horse was already successful in Europe on the Youngster Tour. Julia Kringstad Hakanson and Ben Maher themselves rode Diablo VII earlier.
