The individual championship for young riders of North America took place in Lexington (Kentucky). The 18 year old Kilian McGrath and Salerno became champion. Salerno is a 13 year old gelding of Indorado.

The Purina Mills Grand Prix was won by VDL Wadorette,  an offspring of Indoctro. VDL Wadorette and rider Rachel Udelson won $40.000 in this Grand Prix.
