A traditional class at the WEF in Wellington is the ‘Battle of the Sexes’, a six bar class in which a men's team takes on a women's team. In this class there were 5 VDL horses competing: (Cordobes I x Lord Pezi), VDL Dogan (Chin Chin x Darco), Batman VDL (v. Indorado), Bugatti VDL (Silverstone x Indoctro), Vinzell VDL ( Matterhorn x Athlet). The match ended in tie but there was a ere was a notable role for Bugatti VDL who jumped with Candice King over a fence of 1.80m .
And there were more good results for offspring of VDL Stallions: For Side VDL (Zirocco Blue x Landlord), who was sold last year in the WEF Sport Horse Auction, won a class for 5 year olds. For Side VDL was ridden by Shaine Brooks.
The talented Check Picobello Z (Cardento x Orlando van de Heffinck) won a 1.45m class with his rider Eric Lamaze and also finished 6th in a 1.50m class.
