The Central Inspection of Noord-Holland proved to be a successful day last Saturday. Our three-year-old provisional keur mare Thalissa (Expectation PS x Ebony), bred by A. Buist from Grijpskerk, was crowned champion of the three-year-old dressage mares and received an invitation to the National Mare Inspection (NMK). Thalissa is jointly owned by VDL Stud and Saskia van Musscher, who also prepared and presented the mare for the inspection.
The judges were full of praise for the Expectation PS daughter: "This mare is long-lined with an especially strong topline. She consistently shows good articulation in her joints and has a powerful trot in which she maintains an excellent posture."
With this convincing performance, Thalissa not only claimed the championship title but also secured her place at the National Mare Inspection.
There was more success in the jumping foal championship. Filly Wahida-Price G. (Mindset ES x Zinelord VDL), bred and owned by F.A.P. Groot, was named champion and also received an invitation to the National Foal Inspection.
Judge Marcel Beukers described the champion filly as a long-lined foal with plenty of blood: "She showed an expressive trot with lots of scope, as well as an excellent canter. In both gaits she makes very good use of her hind leg."
