Last night our home-bred stallion Gisborne VDL won the 1.55m Grand Prix of Indoor Friesland under occasional rider Jeroen Dubbeldam. In a sold-out WTC Expo, Jeroen Dubbeldam sent Gisborne VDL clear in the nine-combination jump-off across the finish line in 35.98 seconds.

Gisborne VDL is a 12-year-old stallion and a son of the preferent Zirocco Blue from the Goodtimes mare Alpenroos VDL. Gisborne VDL was sold by us as a younger horse to Lothlorien Farm and the stallion is normally ridden by the Irish top rider Daniel Coyle. With Gisborne VDL he has been invited to the Rolex top 10 in Geneva. Because Daniel Coyle has other competition commitments in Canada and the USA, the stallion is currently staying with Jeroen Dubbeldam in preparation for the competition in Geneva. Jeroen Dubbeldam took this opportunity to start with the stallion at Indoor Friesland and this was very successful. The combination won both the Grand Prix and the qualifying class on Thursday evening.
We had more breeding success in Leeuwarden; Luke Hill finished 4th in the 1* Grand Prix with our 7-year-old mare Lena VDL. Lena VDL is a daughter of Carrera VDL from the Mr. Blue mare Gelena VDL. VDL Kelton (Bubalu x Corland, co-breeder Yde Walda) finished 5th and 8th in 1.40m classes with Alex Gill.
Myacintha O (Douglas x Cantos, breeder Mr. Oosterveld) won a 1.25m class with Pam Nieuwenhuis.
