At the international CSI4* in Gassin – St. Tropez (France), Matrix van de Brownstables, a son of Glenfiddich, put in a strong performance in the prestigious 1.55m Grand Prix.
Ridden by French rider Geoffroy de Coligny, he convincingly qualified for the jump-off after a clear first round. The pair also remained clear in the jump-off and finished in an impressive sixth place with a time of 39.11 seconds, amidst a strong international field. The Glenfiddich son was bred by H. Bratt & I. Bruinenberg.
There was also success for a VDL-related bloodline in the young horse classes. In the final for six-year-olds, victory went to Pommerator van’t Koningshof Z, a son of Pommerol de Muze, ridden by the Belgian rider Cyril Cools. The stallion, bred by Judy Ann Melchior, remained clear-round twice and convincingly claimed the final.
With a top placing in the CSI4* Grand Prix for a son of Glenfiddich and a victory in the young horse class for a Pommerol de Muze offspring, the influence of proven VDL bloodlines remains evident on the international show jumping circuit.
