The VDL bloodline was once again very much in the spotlight on Saturday at CSI De Wolden. In the 1.40m Championship, victory went convincingly to Jucatan VDL, a son of Carrera, who rode a clear jump-off under Evi Wiefferink. With a time of 44.69 seconds, the pair secured the win. H. & A. Sybrandi-Merkus are the breeders of the Carrera son.
Second place also went to a horse of VDL-offspring. Notorious, a son of Arezzo, also made a strong impression under Steven Veldhuis. After a clear first round, he had one jumping fault in the jump-off, which was still enough for an impressive second place. The Arezzo son was bred by F.J.G. van Boxtel.
Night Life also put in a positive performance. The son of Erco van ‘t Roosakker, ridden by Luke Hill, produced a good round and finished in a creditable sixth place. Night Life was bred by VDL Stud.
