The KWPN Premium stallion Aston was undoubtedly one of the eye-catchers of the KWPN Stallion Show. In both Ermelo and 's-Hertogenbosch, he managed to convince with his enormous scope, power and good balance. With his well developed type and excellent technique, Aston was chosen as one of the KWPN Premium stallions. His pedigree has also played a very positive role in this, as Aston is a son of Aganix du Seigneur out of the Olympic mare Derly Chin de Muze.
Sire Aganix du Seigneur has emerged as one of the best sires of his generation in recent years. One Aganix descendant after another is breaking through at international level, including Agana van het Gerendal Z, Attoucha, Akarado Hero Z, et cetera. In addition, the offspring of Aganix du Seigneur stand out from an early age due to their scope, power and quality on the jump.
Derly Chin de Muze - Aston's dam - is famous in both sport and breeding. The For Pleasure daughter jumped with Eric Lamaze and Sharn Wordley at the very highest level and even got to represent the Canadian flag at the London Olympics in 2012. In breeding, she produced the 1.60m showjumper Juju VDM in combination with Toulon and, in combination with Eldorado van de Zeshoek, the 1.60m showjumpers Japatero VDM, Kontador VDM and, finally, the world-famous Killer Queen VDM. Ridden by Daniel Deusser, Killer Queen VDM is among the best jumpers of the past decade. She won both the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen and that of Spruce Meadows, Calgary. She also competed at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and won the Grand Prix of Wellington and Doha and the World Cup of Mechelen.
Furthermore, Aston's pedigree goes back to the Nabab de Rêve mare Werly Chin de Muze, who also jumped at 1.60m level, and the legendary Qerly Chin. Thanks to his unique pedigree and striking jumping talent, Aston is a very interesting addition to VDL Stud’s stallion string.
