Stargos VDL, Hessel Hoekstra
Stargos VDL made a great impression at the Oldenburger Stallion Approvals; he stood out with his excellent jumping technique, especially a fantastic way of using his back end on the jump. Stargos VDL also showed lots of athletic ability, spectacular reflexes and is very light on his feet. With top stallion Stakkato Gold as a sire and the upcoming Conthargos as a dam’s sire, the pedigree of Stargos promises a lot for the future.
Sire Stakkato Gold is one the best sons of foundation sire Stakkato and currently has more than thirty offspring competing at the international Grand Prix level. Stakkato Gold is known for passing on excellent reflexes, light-footedness and lots of quality over the fence. Dam’s sire Conthargos is well on his way to becoming a true top sire. His eldest offspring are breaking through at the 1.60m level, and his youngsters are very popular at the various actions and leading trading stables. For years, great-grandsire Argentinus has been one of the best sires of his generation with offspring such as Arko III, Air Jordan, Armitage, All Star, Special Ed and numerous others.
In the mare line, Stargos dam Carlotta jumps at 1.35m level and is a daughter of the excellent broodmare Ebata. Not only has Ebata produced the 1.60m showjumper Carla de Balou ridden by Wolfgang Puschak and the 1.50m showjumper Call Me Diva ridden by Toni Hassmann, she is also the granddam to Grand Prix showjumper Landlady ridden by Dieter Smitz. Stargos great-granddam Lugina jumped successfully at 1.40m level, and produced Montealban La Silla, an approved stallion in Mexico.
