During the CSIYH1* in Pärnu, Estonia, several VDL offspring made a strong impression. With multiple victories, they once again underlined the quality and versatility of VDL genetics in international young horse sport.
The five-year-old Rumored 2 Be Good VDL, a son of For Treasure, was the standout performer of the competition. Ridden by Estonian rider Piret Ervald, the KWPN horse immediately claimed victory in the 1.05m class for five-year-olds on Thursday. Two days later, the pair repeated this feat by also winning the 1.10m class convincingly. With two clear rounds and two victories, Rumored 2 Be Good VDL enjoyed an extremely successful show. The For Treasure, bred by Jüri Makarov, thus demonstrated great talent, caution and attitude, confirming his potential for the future.
A VDL offspring was also honoured in the seven-year-old horses’ class. Ornet Blue, a son of Zirocco Blue, jumped to victory under Triinu Riisberg in the 1.25m class, contested over two phases. The KWPN horse, bred by Gebr. Damminga, recorded a fast clear-round second phase in 35.83 seconds, thereby staying ahead of the seven-year-old competition.
With three international victories in the young horse classes, the offspring of For Treasure and Zirocco Blue enjoyed a particularly successful weekend in Pärnu. This is yet another confirmation of the strong performances delivered by the VDL stallions in the training of young horses.
