In recent days, offspring of VDL stallions have once again made their mark at international shows in Bedizzole and Gassin.
In Bedizzole on 13 March, Julius.D, a son of Arezzo, jumped to victory in the CSI4* 1.45m Special Two Phases. Under the saddle of Emanuele Gaudiano, the pair completed a clear round in a fast time of 34.73 seconds. Julius.D was bred by H. van Dael.
There was also great success for the VDL lines in Gassin – St. Tropez. In the 6-year-olds (1.20m) class, victory went to Kyoto de Hus, also a son of Arezzo, ridden by Morgan Bordat. The pair recorded a clear round in 72.34 seconds. The breeder is SARL Haras du Hus.
In the 7-year-olds (1.30m), Jetset de Kervel, a son of Glasgow van 't Merelsnest, won the class with Ilaria Sutera. Here too, the pair remained clear (74.93 sec). The breeder is Samuel Denes.
In addition, Jododinus PP, a son of Etoulon, put in a strong performance in the Big Tour (1.30m). Riding with Marc Bettinger, he finished second on 12 March (62.59 sec), before convincingly winning the class the following day in 59.89 seconds. Jododinus PP was bred by Stal Poppelaars.
With these results, Arezzo VDL, Glasgow van ’t Merelsnest and Etoulon VDL once again confirm their strong hereditary qualities at international level, from young horse classes right through to the higher levels of competition.
