At the European Championships for Children, Juniors and Young Riders in Hagen, horses from the VDL stud once again demonstrated that they perform exceptionally well even at the highest youth level. With top individual placings and several team medals, VDL-bred horses played a key role.
In the Young Riders category, Cadillac Z (by Carrera), ridden by Dutch rider Thijmen Vos, made a strong impression. During the first round of the championship, the pair jumped clear and finished in 3rd place. In the individual competition, the Carrera son, bred by G. Weggemans, finished in an impressive 5th place in the final standings. Thanks in part to this result, the Dutch team secured the gold medal in the Young Riders category.
There was also success for a VDL offspring in the Juniors. Zornell II (by Zirocco Blue) and the Swiss rider Laura André delivered a strong and consistent performance throughout the championship. The pair finished eleventh individually and also contributed to Switzerland’s bronze team medal.
